OUR TEAM
Meet the passionate individuals who drive Bayou City Interpreting's success.

FOUNDER + CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
SOPHIE MACEY
Sophie Macey is the founder and CEO of Bayou City Interpreting. She’s BEI Advanced certified and passionate about educational interpreting, with a deep commitment to supporting both interpreters and the students they serve. Sophie met her first Deaf friend at eight years old and learned sign language through friendship and immersion.
She somehow runs BCI without a drop of caffeine, thrives on spontaneous travel plans, and is always happiest at the ocean. At home, Sophie is raising four wildly unique and wonderful kids who keep life anything but boring. Her oldest, Ezra, is a football fanatic with big dreams. Levi has a mind like a sponge and seems destined for Jeopardy. Asher is her gamer with a talent for tech and a curiosity. And Eden, the youngest, has the voice of an angel and a flair for the stage. Together, they’re the heart of everything Sophie does.

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
ADAM MACEY
Adam Macey serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Bayou City Interpreting, bringing over 15 years of experience in financial management and leadership. He oversees all financial operations at BCI, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and strategic planning. Adam also leads the HR department, ensuring that internal operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Outside the office, Adam is a dedicated dad, avid sports enthusiast, and lifelong gamer.

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
ADRIENNE BASKINS
Adrienne brings nearly 20 years of interpreting experience to the table, with a career that was sparked when her mom told her it would be “too hard” and “not for her.” Naturally, as the firecracker she is, Adrienne dove in headfirst and never looked back. Her work has spanned just about every setting imaginable, including years on staff at one of the world’s leading cancer research hospitals.
These days, Adrienne is not only an interpreter and leader, but also a full-time chaos coordinator. Her world revolves around her two children (ages seven and five), two bonus daughters, and a niece and nephew, who all keep her calendar full and her heart fuller. And while Sophie runs on zero caffeine, Adrienne proudly claims that her blood type is espresso.

SCHEDULING COORDINATOR
LINDSEY HERRERA
With over 10 years of scheduling experience, Lindsey has worked in both the interpreting field and within government agencies. For the past 15 years, she’s been deeply connected to the Deaf community, helping ensure communication is clear, respectful, and accessible in all kinds of settings. She's passionate about creating inclusive spaces where everyone feels heard.
Outside of work, Lindsey is a proud mom to two wonderful bonus sons and a newborn, which keeps life busy, joyful, and full of meaning. In her very little free time she enjoys reading, thrifting, and exploring Houston’s food scene with her family.

INTERPRETER + CUSTOMER LIAISON
TIM HERRERA
Tim’s passion for interpreting began at just three years old, inspired by the interpreters he saw throughout his early life. With over a decade of experience in the field, he has developed a strong commitment not only to the craft of interpreting but also to mentoring others and helping them grow. Timothy is a proud husband and father of three, including a newborn, and believes in always becoming better than you were yesterday.
Fun fact: The whole Herrera household are gamers. They’re fiercely competitive, but when they’re on the same team, other players don’t stand a chance.
